Robotics headlines swing between humanoid demos and warehouse AMR rollouts. The quieter signal is the text of live job posts: which robots, which languages, which cities. Robot Jobs Board classifies those posts with a keyword taxonomy, so this piece is a snapshot of what the board is actually asking for, not a funding narrative.
Use it as a map. Candidates can line up a project with C++ jobs or ROS 2 jobs. Employers can see how crowded a niche is before they write the next requisition.
Robotics domains that keep showing up
Humanoids. Labs in San Jose, Austin, and a handful of other cities hire perception, whole-body control, data operations, and on-site operators. The software bar is high. AMRs and warehouse robotics. Titles talk about deployment, fleet software, and navigation. The work is less glamorous and more hired. If you want volume at junior and mid level, start with AMR jobs.

Skills the taxonomy keeps tagging
Across descriptions, the durable cluster is still C++, Python, Linux. ROS 2 appears whenever the company did not invent a private middleware. CUDA and PyTorch cluster in perception and humanoid policy jobs. PLC remains the secret handshake for factory integration. Isaac Sim and Gazebo appear when the team cannot put every new hire on a scarce robot.

This is not a salary survey. Bands move too fast and too few posts include numbers. It is also not a claim that humanoids have "won." Warehouse AMRs still hire the people who keep robots moving at 2 a.m.
